Playing Devil's Advocate, here. I don't really even play competitvely, because I acknowledge that it's not conducive to playing for fun.
When it comes to high levels of play, whether it be Guild Wars, Star Craft, Counter Strike, or even Chess, people are going to play for blood. Brutually efficient tactics and is the name of the game. No doubt the way they name their characters or talk in All Chat is a part of their tactics. If they upset you and make you lose focus with words or names, that's good for them and your fault for not having a thicker skin.
If you're not prepared to face cutthroat teams and cheap tactics, perhaps you need to reevaluate what you want out ranked of Guild vs. Guild battles. People are not responsible for your enjoyment of a competitive game, especially not on the Ladder.

Honestly, if we TELL you exactly what we're doing and how we're going to do it, and you still can't stop us... who is there to blame?

Haha, yeah, some people might say that's adding insult to injury, but at that point I just think it's hilarious. We haven't fought them yet, but, frankly, I would laugh it up, although I don't necessary take it as seriously as some others might.

And that is what they are doing! If the other guild leaves their lord behind, they win, if not they don´t have a good enough tactic to stay and try to win! Their tactic fail and then they are screwed, like in that beat'em up game!
There is no competition involved in that tactic! It actually is all about avoiding competition!!!

That basically sums up my feels for games like guilty gear, mine discing in tribes, or games that allow for things like spawn camping. I am sure im forgetting a few, but oddly though i didnt seem to mind it so much in the bushido blade series for some reason, i dont really know why.

Honestly, he didn't say anything about blame being assigned for losing. No idea where you got that. But hey, whatever...

Never said the other team was blameless for not being able to stop you. Only said that being an ass about it doesn't win you any points.

You consider it being an ass, I consider it fair warning. I wouldn't lie about ganking - if we say we're ganking, watch out.

Its a BASIC tactic that one fast person (water, strength, beast mastery) stays further back to wait for the flag to respawn AND to watch for outflanks.
Another Basic tactic is doing an own outflank, by splitting the group in 2 to surround the foe at the flag stand.
Those zerg rushs are so easy to beat, its nothing more than a simpole lesson to new teams that just can rush mindlessly.

On certain maps if you meet a full gank team at the flagstand by the time you race back (assuming both teams leave at nearly the same time) the guild lord will be dead because they all have speed boosts and most teams don't have multiple people with charge.
The only hard thing is that if you adopt an anti-gank stance you are either going to lose time holding the middle or going to fight a downhill battle in the middle on maps which are easy to gank.

The video is out there. You have absolutely no excuse if you lose to this.
I'm mostly surprised that people managed to fall for that despite all the warnings given. Good Game Nubsauce, indeed.
Peace,

I don't PvP, so correct me if I'm wrong. They're using a tactic, that doesn't exploit game bugs, and won with it. True or false?
Everything that doesn't involve exploits that allows a team to win is a tactic that worked. True or false?
So what's the issue here? Someone feels cheated? Feelings hurt? What? I could've sworn you don't go into PvP looking for warm fuzzy feelings.

Nah. You go to have fun. Generally speaking, anyway.
Look, if I were on the recieving end I honestly wouldn't care all that much. They can act how they want; no skin off my back. I'd probably just roll my eyes at any taunts. But, guess what? There are supposedly teams out there... you know, good ones... that *gasp* have class and are generally cool. Can you believe that?! So, again... sure, they can act however they choose. That's perfectly fine. I even expect it. But it doesn't stop me from voicing an opinion on it. Or just calling a spade a spade.

Do you actually believe that a single attack spell that deals several hundred points of unstoppable damage is what ANet wanted? Do you think they balanced the game to then put a spell in there that completly unbalances everything again? Mages need a high attribute level to deal much damage, you didn´t need a single attribute point to deal several hundred points of damage with Grenth´s Balance! Is that a bug? Was that intended?

You have other conditions to fulfill to do damage with Grenth's Balance, and it only does several hundred points of damage against things with ridiculously high HP. The two primary targets for it are in PvP, Guild Lords, and in PvE, Glint.
Good luck trying to use it on an actual player, wherein it will only do good damage if you're on the verge of death. PANK's tactic is perfectly legitimate, and now that everyone has seen the video, as Ensign said, well...its only your fault if you lose to it. The only lame part of it is that farming faction makes the ladder an even more worthless feature than it already is.
